RE4 - GCN or Wii?

I just found a GCN copy of RE4 (brand new) in a retail store for $40 I know this is a good price as I have seen 2nd hand copies for this much. I was wondering if I am better to get this and then get REUC on the Wii or is the Wii version of RE4 that much better that I should spend the extra money on it. By the way way I have not played any of the RE games so I do not know what I am missing yet.

it is only about $20 more and in my opion is much more fun and has more extras than the GCN version I say to definiatly get the wii version!

The GC version was *awesome* BUT the Wii version is *even better*!

- Get the Wii version.

Research it, plain and simple. All reviewers pretty much say the Wii's version is the best version.

that's what I found from all the reviews that I read that the big difference seemed to be the controls. They also say that the Wii version has all the extras that Capcom put in the PS2 & PC versions having not played these I wondered if they were worth the extra cash.
Lets not forget Nintendo have remade some GCN games for the Wii with very little improvement.

Say What? I guess you havent played the game for ungodly numbers of hours as i have. GFX on the Wii version are much much better. I've played and finished both of them about 10 times each version, both on the same 52" widescreen TV and i can say without a doubt that the Wii version no only looks twice as good (via 480p with component cable in 16:9 widescreen) but has all the cool features of the Ps2 version and the controls are 10x better on the Wii. When i first tried a speed-run on the Wii version, i beat the time i got on the GC version that took me 4 runs to get. The game plays way way better on the Wii, both with controls and graphically. It is DEFINATLY worth the cash to get the Wii Edition. The controls by themselves are so much better that it's like playing a whole new game, and the Ps2 extras are a nice bonus (and worth the money too). I traded in the GC version to help pay for the Wii version and it was worth it. If you could get the GC version for $50 and the Wii version was $100 (which it isnt) it would still be worth the extra $50. I've played both extensively, get the Wii version.

I sold RE4 (Cube version) for $42 on ebay and spent an extra $37 for the Wii version! $79 at Target

The Controls and Seperate Ways (mini Game) are heaps Good!
I will never sell this Game!

Yeah the Wii version is better.

I couldn't see myself enjoying this game using PS2/Game cube controllers after using the Wiimote.

Everything just comes together and makes it so much easier to shoot rather than using the analog-stick to aim :P

I'm gonna have to be a sheep and go Wii, i recently played RE4 on a mates GC, and I couldn't aim to save my life. The Wii-Mote makes it heaps easier.

I'm playing RE4 right now on the Wii and I'm loving it, personally I've never been a huge fan of the Resident evil series, I liked the story but didn't take to well to the controls, I think the last version I played before RE4 was on the Dream Cast, and I only continued to nut it out because I wanted to see what happens. The Wii controls on RE4 make the game so much easier to play and makes it a much more enjoyable experience. Graphics look nice and smooth, and sounds awesome through 5.1, so turn the lights off and crank it up

I've never seen the GameCube version in action but I presume the Wii version would look better with a higher resolution.

You must be playing on a crap TV. The Wii version looks much much better. I've played both on my 52" screen extensively and i can easily say that the Wii version looks about 2-3x better running in 480p via component cable in 16:9 widescreen.

without component cables I think both the GC and wii version look the same.

I just discovered my TV is a HD TV lol, nice suprise... I never knew. I will definitely get component cables now.
