EB has Mario Galaxy slated for a Aril 1st release (let's hope that's not an April fools).

Whilst this is a tentative release date, it still indicates that the game is at least near some level of completion and that we can expect it to ship alot earlier than the currently speculated Dec 2007 date.

The bad news of course is that Nintendo is unlikely to release games such as SSBB or Metroid Prime Corruption alongside Mario, and that we may need to wait unitl later in the year.

saw the mario galaxy game cover up at EB games last month with a sign saying 'coming soon' the guys there said it should be out in March.

However, went back today and they have taken all the covers down and I asked when will it be out, and the guys said August. =(

i bought my wii last month so i could purchase this game a month later but looks like i have another 5 months to go. BLEH!

I have no idea if this game will be good or not I never had a nes, snes,n64 or a GCN. When I was little I didn't know what a video game was and when N64 came out I had a PS1 and when gamecube came out I had a PS2. I only found out what nintendo was when nintendo DS came out I got one of them and that was when I found what nintendo even was and then I got a wii aswell they're the only 2 nitendo consols iv'e ever owned.

I think that nintendo are slacking off with storylines because I picked up the game case for it and the first part of the blurb said "After some creature kidnaps Princess Peach and takes off into space, " (I can't remember the rest of the sentence). This is proof they are slacking off because 1. Princess Peach kidnaped again, it is just to repetitive and 2. Some creature, that was the best thing they could think of to kidnap her, not even tell you it's name, although, in fairness almost every other time it is Bowser so it is something new, sort of. P.S. Mario in Space, how does he breath. He doesn't have a spacesuit on, and the rocks that Mario goes to are alot smaller than the moon and they have by the looks of it have about the same gravity of the moon. They must have alot of matter. What are they made of, if anyone can answer this please tell me.

Sorry to say this but...do you actually read what you write? theres a number of problems with your quote.
1. the case your referring to is NOT the real case [its not even out yet].
2. 'creatures' these are the words used of the people who own game stores like EB games. they have NO idea. (look at there adverts for the classic controller 'play your gamecube games' which was false.
why are you even complaining bout mario games? Reaosn for its success, is because despite the storyline, the games are always great.

Yeah it is a bit iffy isnt it? But who cares, Mario games are fun as it is! Maybe Miyamoto needs to nerf Bowser so that Mario can actually kill him! Or or or, maybe Bowser hax! Something isn't right nonetheless... Bowser cannot keep coming back to life!

This game really takes the Super Mario generation and throws it wide out (into space

). Mainly because all other Mario games consist of running around on solid ground and being held down by gravity, this game is all about jumping from planet to planet and my guess (because I haven't got it yet) is that your navigation skills of remembering where you are would have to be fairly good to remember where you came from and are going to.
Ps. I loved Super Mario Bros./Super Mario 64/Super Mario Sunshine and I'm going to love this game!!!
Pss. I'm getting this game in one or two days if everything goes well!

It's actally about the same length and difficulty as SM64. Go back and play SM64. I think you'll find it's very similar in length and difficulty now. The thing is, you were probably younger, and had less skill, back then than you do now.

Also, I absolutley love this game. BEST GAME EVER!

This game is a little bit weird story wise, but otherwise great game!!!

And what I mean by story is, well, first off, the beginning is a heap like the Paper Mario on 64's beginning, and they kinda just launch straight into it without explaining it all. Anyway, great game, 9/10.

Well... I liked the game, except the planet concept got a bit annoying. A lot of the time I wished I could play more on wider and larger flat surfaces instead of tiny individual planets in space, each with their own gravitational pull. It got tiring after a while. Because each level layout has all these individual planets, the terrain almost felt exactly the same as the last level.

And this game is very linear. To unlock the next stargazing "room" which contained two new levels, you have to gather a certain amount of stars from the levels already available to you, defeat the boss, and then you got to go to the next room and do the next two new levels, or go back to the levels before and gain 1 or 2 more stars from them. It felt like the game was a preset order for what you do.

Mario's movement felt a bit stiff. You couldn't do a triple jump unless you were at full running speed, the spin attack felt quite stiff because you slowed down when commencing it, and sometimes over anticipating when you were going to hit your target and end up getting hit yourself instead, and I felt like this move had been ripped off from earlier games (Crash Bandicoot anyone?). And I felt like Mario's running speed wasn't fluid enough.

Also, the main hub is tiny. Remember Princess Peach's Castle in Super Mario 64 where you entered levels by jumping into the portraits? Or in Super Mario Sunshine, Delfino Plaza was pretty big too, and you entered levels usually by jum

jumping into Graffiti to enter levels, but the main hub in this game is tiny. Nothing to do here like in the other games except uselessly talk to people.

Anyway, I thought this game was alright, it was fun, but I actually enjoyed playing Super Mario Sunshine a lot more. Maybe the gameplay is more suited to me in Sunshine, or I'm getting too old for platforming games now.

all the reviews i have read have been good comment on how good the game is..
so my question is.... what is the game like? is it one of those games which gets you hooked on and you sit infront of the box for hours?

Lol my friend showed me the URMRGAY thing, absolutely hilarious that it was included. finished the game entirely all 252 stars, as far as replay value goes i wont play it again soon, but in the future i will certainly enjoy it again. A must buy.
