Call of Duty: Black Ops II had 800,000 Xbox 360 players online on launch day.
The Wii U version? It had 518.
Meanwhile, zombies had just 42 when Kotaku tried to play.
Now, before you declare it a failure, the circumstances are very different. For one, the Wii U just launched a matter of hours ago, and requires a 5GB patch to play online. Most people are probably content playing Mario offline for now, as downloading the patch means you can't use your console until it is finished.
It also hasn't launched in any region outside of the US, and most of the early adopters probably already have Black Ops II on another platform.
