Dead Space 3 not planned for Wii U

Despite the Wii U being on technical parity with the Xbox 360 and PS3, Visceral Games' vice president and general manager Steve Papoutsis has told NintendoWorldReport that a Wii U version of Dead Space 3 is "not currently in the plan."

Dead Space 3 has been given an official release window of February 2013, which fits in nicely with the Wii U which is expected to be released this Christmas period.

EA has already confirmed that they have two unannounced Wii U titles in the works, but by the sounds of it, Dead Space 3 is not one of them.

We'll be surprised if a Wii U version doesn't arrive at some point however, survival horror seems to suit the Gamepad controls perfectly.

Hopefully it does come over to Wii U. I think if the 3rd party stuff that's available at launch doesn't sell very well, support will dry up quickly again. Seems to be the way on Nintendo platforms. 3rd parties know they can't compete with Nintendo's 1st party stuff. So they don't even try. :(

i've never played the first 2 but i've heard this game is really good

so im hoping if this games does come out i hoping the do i recap of the last 2 game so we know whats going on in the story

Maybe the subject matter isn't suited for the general Nintendo audience, but then, the Wii has RE4, House Of The Dead, and other MA titles. Dead Space has so far been a very graphic 'space-horror' title.

Is it correct to say the WiiU is on technical parity? I thought the details now show it be to surpass current consoles, albeit not by as much as we would have liked.

It is better than current consoles, I think it's just the fact that developers haven't had the time to take advantage of it in only a small amount of time. I expect the visuals to improve over time.

The hardware has more power than current gen. Hower a lot of the extra power seem to get used up in calculating and rendering the secondary screen for the controller. In terms of what's being displayed on your TV, I don't think we will see much difference from what the best 360/Ps3 games offer now.

The Wii also has Dead Space: Extraction.
