John Lennon’s Imagine coming to Rock Band 3

by Ben Salter Featured 13 Comments 20 Votes 6445 Views 26/10/2010 Back to News

MTV Games and Harmonix have revealed that John Lennon’s full 10-track solo album Imagine will be one of the first available as DLC for Rock Band 3.

The album has unquestionably been picked to showcase the new keyboard peripheral and to continue Rock Band's association with The Beatles.

Clarifying the use of controllers in Rock Band 3 DLC Harmonix said: “All Rock Band 3 DLC will include five-button bass and guitar, drums, Pro drums, keys, Pro keys and harmonies, where applicable. Meaning if a song has a keyboard part or harmonies in it, the keyboard part and harmonies will be included in the DLC track. This includes both Pro Keys and Pro Drums. We have not yet announced any Pro Guitar or Pro Bass upgrades for Imagine. Also, you don’t have to have the keyboard to play the keyboard parts of any song for Rock Band 3. You can play the five-button key parts on your traditional five-button guitar controllers.”

Rock Band 3 is officially released in Australia this Thursday, October 28.

Hmm..dunno much about the Rock Band games, but if they are putting in John Lennon, it'll be good.
[Rage]

Makes me want to get it even more.
Rock Band 3 Is Amazing.
nice... just the album (besides the already announced Billy Joel and Doors packs) to showcase the keyboard :)
Rock band 3 has been getting some excellent reviews. Can't wait to get my copy.
why won't harmonix make the beatles game exportable?

Nope.
It's got to do with keeping The Beatles Rock Band a game in itself - keeping content only within the game to preserve itself as complete and exclusive.
hope someday they do.

They did with greenday
It was very hard for them to get the license to The Beatles: Rock Band. Unlikely we'll seem them released again.
Just got my copy of Rock Band 3 today, cant wait to get home from work and play it.

finally something to stop me playing Civ V :)
The problem with RB3 is that all the peripherals are so expensive in Australia. Plus you can't add the pro-drums cymbals to RB1 drums, so you have to buy a whole new drum set.
I'm still debating getting this game now that I know about these let-downs.

If you want to get a kit cheaper then you will have to import it or see if you can find a cheap beatles bundle as those drums are the same.

Barnes and Noble website is good. I got my RB3 cymbals from there and they sell complete kits for about $130 US. At the moment the Aussie dollar is strong against the green back so you would probably save $100 by ordering through them.

Don't put up with RB1 rubbish kits
