Nintendo has confirmed that it will show a new Mario game for Wii U at E3 along with the highly anticipated next instalment in the Pikmin series.
Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto told Spanish publication El Mundo, via Eurogamer, that he has been working on a new Pikmin game that capitalizes on the Wii U's high definition capabilities.
We've heard rumours of a new Pikmin game since 2008, but this is the first time it has been mentioned in the lead up to E3 by Nintendo.
Meanwhile, Miyamoto revealed that a new Super Mario game will be announced for Wii U at E3 in June.
It was later confirmed by a Nintendo statement.
"In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii U system will be shown at this year's E3 Expo. We'll have more to announce about our plans for the E3 Expo at a later date."
