Wondering how communication will work within the mysterious Miiverse? Users will be able to communicate with friends via text and drawings, but Nintendo has some safeguards in place to keep things family friendly for the masses.
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealed that three forms of filtering will in place to ensure everything is clean and friendly. The first is algorithm based, meaning it will automatically be filtered using a list of "naughty words". The second is super crazy; a moderator will read all posts before they are published. Finally, users will be able to flag inappropriate content as they see fit.
Iwata didn't say how long the moderation step would cause delay between messages, but he suggested that "personally, I think 30 minutes should be acceptable".
So does that mean if I send a message to Ben asking if he wants to join me in a game of Aliens: Colonial Marines I could be waiting 30 minutes for a response? Thanks Nintendo....
