Nintendo Hosting Multi-Regional 'Nintendo Direct'

Tonight Nintendo will be hosting a multi-regional 'Nintendo Direct' announcement show. Kicking off at 10pm tonight, the Japanese version will go first, so for those of you fluent in Japanese or just want to be a little earlier for seeing any new game trailers, this could be for you:

The European Version will follow 1 hour later, which will be a subtitled version of the Japanese announcements with a special European announcement afterwards:

And for those of you who are big fans of Reggie (which is all of us right?) the US has it's own Nintendo Direct announcements starting at 1am AEST, 2 hours after the European version.

Its rare for Nintendo to do anything like this, and speculation is rife. One of the bigger rumors getting around, is that the only reason they would show a difference show in each region, is it may contain WiiU pricing information for each region. The only solid information we have is a statement by Reggie saying: "looking forward to sharing some news."

A whole bunch of trademarks came out of Japan very recently all saying WiiU, so it seems like thats the official name. I don't mind it myself.

No that'll be the actual launch time for the WiiU more than likely.

Reggie did say that some more info on the WiiU's specs were soon to be forthcoming. Maybe it has something to do with that....

Or maybe it has something to do with the price of bread in Greece.

Apparently the final dev-kits were only recieved earlier this month. It was originally reported that the final dev kits were given out around 24th Jan, but then Nintendo afterwards released an upgraded dev-kit based on a faster GPU. Anonymous devs came out and say they were pleasantly surprised with the gpu speed-up even though it wasn't a significant upgrade. If hardware has been finalized, releasing the specs would be 1 less thing Nintendo has to do at E3 which they can spend with games and online features and pricing. It could be anything, heck it could be totally 3DS / Wii related.

Yeah of course. It was mainly 3DS information. Lots of infor on the Kid Icarus multiplayer modes which are excellent, a bit of information for Mario Tennis Open and a couple of other smaller games. The biggest information was for The Last Story coming to US this year.
