Call of Duty is a natural fit for Nintendo's new console, Wii U, according to the company's American marketing head, Scott Moffitt.
Mr Moffitt is so confident of the console's unique tablet controller that he believes Black Ops 2 on Wii U could be the preferred version of the game.
“The Wii U could become the preferred way to play those games for some of the core gamers," said Mr Moffitt.
"You can imagine how a game like Call of Duty would work on Wii U—the GamePad will you to declutter the TV and pull gaming items like maps down and not interrupt your interaction and enjoy the cinematic quality of the game on the TV."
As for the game's popular online multiplayer component, he believes Nintendo's new "Miiverse", Wii U online community platform, "we think will enhance the gameplay and the connectedness gamers feel with one another.”
“Online multiplayer is one part of it, and certainly Wii U will enable the same online multiplayer features that have become popular in some of the competing consoles.”
