Price planned for Wii U

Sources close to the Wii U have said this product has cost the manufacturer around $180+ $50 for the controller to make.. Source's say Nintendo chose a GPU and CPU to keep up the current consoles but still keep hardware cost down.

We might have to wait till E3 to see if this is true.. I'm guessing it may be around $400 in Australia but I'm happy with this rumor if true..

I'd be happy to see it launch anywhere south of $500 here. But even if it doesn't I'll be getting it. I certainly hope a retailer close to me does a midnight launch. I've had enough rumour and speculation. I just want the damn thing. NOW! [Rage]

I'm definitely going to a Midnight launch. EB Games Maroochydore did one for the Wii so its a safe bet they'll do it for the WiiU too.

I find it sad to see Americans complaining on IGN's facebook page about the $300 US price saying they'd never pay for it at that price, by aussie logic, that's cheap as for a next generation console :S

Great write up Mandy! I hope our Aussie price falls in line with this one, but it probably will be alot more, knowing how expensive our consoles are compared to the rest of the world on launch >.<
