Wii Couldn't Even Handle Resident Evil 5's Title Screen

Without a doubt many of us believe the Resident Evil 4 is one of the best third party titles on the Wii and the best incarnation of the popular zombie slashing game. Many loyal Nintendo fans had already played it in the previous GameCube generation however that didn't stop anyone spending their hard earned cash on one of the best games ever made, evident as it quickly became the first non-Nintendo developed Wii game to reach 1 million sales. Wii gamers can't help but feel disappointed that the sequel will not be making it's way onto Nintendo's motion sensitive console. According the game's producer, Masachika Kawata, this was never a possibility. Due to the immense improvement in graphics "the title screen of this couldn't have been done on PS2 or Wii" Kawata stated.

It's blinding obvious that the Wii is unable to handle the graphics and game engines of Resident Evil 5, watch any of the gameplay trailers to have any hopes and dreams that this may be a lie crushed. In saying that claiming that the Wii could not handle the title screen is another story, there's no amazing physics or hundreds of zombies being rendered in real time here. Never the less don't feel too disheartened Wii gamers Juntake Uchi, another of RE5's producer's, has stated that Capcom have every intention of continuing the Resident Evil series on the Wii "a couple of years down the road."

Well, yes. The Wii would not be able to handle the processing or graphical power trying to play this game. Even if the graphics were downgraded to suit the Wii, it still couldn't handle hundreds of zombies being rendered in real time in the game engine, the game would severely lag or crash. If the engine was suited to the Wii to have far less zombies on the screen at a time and perhaps make huge changes to the physics, it wouldn't be a fun game.
Well this is where the wii is being left behind.

But just remember, how many xbox360 or PS3 games are actually above the wii's processing power?

There are still a lot of third party companies refusing to work with the wii for other reasons
ROFL. That's funny as........but still really annoying.
They really need to change the name from Resi 5 to Resi 4: Africa Edition

Every gameplay video ive seen has the same amount of zombies on screen as Resi 4 did, the only "hundreds of zombies" ive seen are in the pre-rendered cutscenes

Ps Producers know jack about the inner workings of games
Wii feels left out....
Meh, E3 is back next year!!!
that sucks! but wii doesnt suck!
i cant wait for this game. it is going to be epic
ooowwww what a shame but makes sense.....
this is shameful
lol

thank god I have a ps3 as well
Awww, isn't that a shame! I was hoping someone would do something about it! I guess I'll just have to get a PS3 or something...

wow, didn't know you'd get hurt so easily... and I guess your right, you shouldn't care about RE series b/c it won't be coming to wii for a long time. Although, why do I always see you posting in RE related threads if you don't care about it.

to give you something to do instead of lurking
two words: flipping violation.

Same here.
Why is nintendo working on more motion sensitivity (Wii Motion Plus) when the system can't handle modern graphics?
the nintendo wii should change it's name to nintendo poo

my thoughts exactly
thanks for the constant and consistent disappointment Nintendo!
another reason to buy a HD console as well as a Wii.
this confirms what I have been saying all along. Well this sucks to anyone who does not also have a HD console. Go the PS3.
Lucky we have Mario Kart
I don't get it, of course the wii can't handle the title screen for resident evil 5. The wii only puts out at 480p while the native resolution for resident evil 5 is 720p.

Regardless of the number crunching power of the consoles in question the Wii simply doesn't have a framebuffer large enough to support the 1024x720 real estate.
