Has the Wii U been hacked? A team of hackers, who previously worked on a successful Wii U modchip, claim to have broken through Nintendo's anti-piracy measures.
The group told CVG that they have "completely reversed the Wii U drive authentication, disk encryption, file system, and everything else needed for this next generation key".
They produced no evidence, but suggested the hack has been achieved through ways of a modchip.
Nintendo jumped on the offensive saying it is aware of the illegal claims, but doesn't believe the Wii U's security has been compromised.
Nintendo resorted to online updates and features to block hackers on the Wii, and with Wii U discs 25GB per layer, piracy won't be as cheap or easy this generation.
