Uncertainty over Tekken characters in Super Smash Bros.

Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada isn't sure if Nintendo and Namco Bandai should include Tekken characters in the next Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.

We're not really sure at this moment but when thinking of the playerbase who is playing Smash Bros., maybe Tekken characters is something they wouldn't want.

Harada told NowGamer that Smash Bros. is a big project for Namco, who is a co-developer, and that fans are most excited by the possibility of Tekken characters making an appearance.

However, he isn't so sure that it's a good thing.

"The fans, rather than asking about Tales or Gundam or some of our other franchises, the fans abroad saw Tekken as one of the key words and took off on that," he said.

"We're not really sure at this moment but when thinking of the playerbase who is playing Smash Bros., maybe Tekken characters is something they wouldn't want, so I've been pulling back on that a bit. But I don't know."

Tekken star Heihachi Mishima can be ruled out contention, as he has been confirmed for Sony's competing title, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

I don't really see any Tekken characters fitting in but they made Snake work REALLY well so anything can happen.
Tekken characters wouldn't really fit in Smash Bros unless they expanded to alot of franchises. Smash Bros is primarily about Nintendo, keep the 3rd party characters to the big ones.

Tekken star Heihachi Mishima can be ruled out contention, as he has been confirmed for Sony's competing title, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Snake's semi-confirmed for All-Stars, he's also in Brawl.

Sony will play hardball for exclusive moreso than Nintendo.
I think this is going to be awesome.

I am more interested in this SSB than I am any other that's been released, because I know it's going to be a kickass brawler!

No Tekken. Get some of the good forgotten Nintendo characters. It's not like they would be short of options.

Big fan of the tekken franchise. To tell you the truth, I can't see the two franchises crossover, Tekken characters don't seem like a good fit to the series.
More character diversity the better.
The only Tekken characters that can fit into SSB would be Roger, Alex, or Mokujin.
