Video game collection sold for 1.2 million dollars!

A man in Paris has sold his video game collection of 7000 titles for a whopping sum of 1.2 million dollars on eBay. The collection counts all of nintendo's games from the NES to the Gamecube, as well as all the games on a SEGA console.

The seller 'Andre', told the LA Times that he has been selling video game collections online for years but has never tried anything gigantic like this.

“What I put on eBay is just a part of my collection. I still do have thousands of other games that I didn’t put there.”

This isn't any typical game collectioner; the man had every, yes, every game from Nintendo virtual boy to titles for the SEGA Dreamcast. After selling Andre said:

“I perfected some full sets by getting every title of them factory sealed, just for the challenge of it. Some titles are extremely hard to come by brand new when they’re 25 years old. Now that the mission is complete, maybe it’s time to move on.”

Andre can go on a long holiday, as for the buyer there's a big package awaiting in his mailbox. Sorry MMGN, but a summer sale this size is not likely to happen here any time soon!

His reaction when he realized he sold his whole collection
Yeah I guess after a while he just "Got over it"

I would assume it wouldn't be an easy thing to do though.
Sweet... Mother of god
THAT A LOT
[WTF] [WTF] [WTF] [WTF] [WTF] [WTF] [WTF]

That's all I can manage.
I would either spend the rest of my life regretting it or regret not selling it. [Rage]
Anyone want to buy my game collection for $1.2 million?

It's in terrible condition, BUT I have one N64 controller that almost works.

An extra $1.2 million, I'd get in quick it won't last. [monkey]
i wish my collection was worth that much. mines probably only worth $500 :'@
I bet his parents told him he was wasting his life playing those little video games....

LOOK AT ME NOW MUM! [MOG]
My porn collection is worth more than that.

U know how hard not just collecting them but fighting the temptation to play them.
Now THAT is what i call a collector!
I would love to know if the Ebay bidder has actually gave him the money for it yet or was it just a fake bid and the winner won't pay ?

If he did pay, maybe it was Richie Rich that bought it :)
ebay/paypal will love the fees on that sale [Shifty]
7000 x 100 is only 700k (and games never use to be this expensive and i wasnt old enough back then to know how much they were)

this guy surely profited from his years

yeah. But respect for this dude though. He's been spending 15 years collecting this whole collection. In the end, all the time and effort put into finding all these games, i mean most of them are still untouched, 1.2 million dollars is not THAT much in the end.

1.2 million in 15 years is still just 300k short of 100k a year. that's a pretty good income when you consider he probably worked on top of all that.
Anyone know what region this is? is it Pal A, Pal B or NTSC? or is it all a mixture of regions?
All games are NTSC-Japan.

If that's how you think you must be raking in the money.
