My Aquarium 2 Review
By Jeann Wong Price: 500 Wii Points
My Aquarium 2 is an update to the aquarium sandbox application of the same name. With three aquarium applications now available on Wiiware, it becomes apparent that they are all virtually the same. This version lets you add deep sea creatures into your aquarium, right next to your goldfish. Some of these include whales, glowing jellyfish, and stingrays which you’d never get into your own fish tank.
Compared to the first game, there are more objects, fish, and decorations that you can use to customise the fish tanks. You can change the theme, add coloured lights, and add a coloured border around the tank. The aquarium is also synchronised to your Wii’s weather channel to reflect the actual weather outside. Sometimes your fish will breed and leave you with a new school of fish.
Overall, this fish tank simulator is pretty standard compared to what’s currently on offer. It’s relaxing to play and experience, and comes with a great selection of classical piano music. If you already have the first game, the features aren’t enough to warrant an upgrade. This aquarium requires a little setting up, but if you want something that will make your TV look instantly pretty, the default tanks in Zenquaria: The Virtual Aquarium is the preference here.
We say: STAY AWAY
